Education and ready finish school

Talking during class distracts other and shows no respect towards the teacher. A class is about 40 minutes long, when one student talks the teacher has to stop teaching and punish the student. This takes time from the lesson. Because the student was talking now everyone has to wait and they will not be learning. Therefore, it doesn’t affect the one who was talking but also everyone else in the class. When someone starts talking they don’t understand what they are causing themselves. Students that talk usually get points off. Their grades drop, also they are likely to fail most tests and quizzes. They won’t understand the homework or may not know they even had homework. In addition, they may not have all their notes so won’t be able to study for tests. Furthermore, they might get dentition which will lower their chances in going to the college they want, also can get a call home to their parents. Students that talk should understand that the teacher is only trying to help them and wants them to pass the class. Students that talk are disrespecting teachers and other student that may want to learn. Teachers have all ready finish school and want their students to finish as well. Teachers have gone to college to learn how to teach a class. They should have respect and attention from all students. When a student talks it shows the teacher that they don’t care about the lesson, for that reason the teacher may not listen to the student when they need something. Additionally, the teachers may not have enough time to finish teaching the rest of the class because of the punishment of the student talking. The rest of the class has gone to school to learn something that day and may not because of the consequences of the one student that was talking. In conclusion, I will like to say that students shouldn’t talk in class because it is shows that they think they are more important than others. In the end it doesn’t only hurt them but others too. Another reason why students shouldn’t talk in class is because the whole class may have to write an essay on ” why I shouldn’t talk during class”. You shouldn’t talk in class, as you can get in Trouble, and disturb others. I should not talk in lesson because it will not help me with my education, and will not help me move forward in life. If I talk in lessons I will not hear important information about science. If I talk, I’m not only distracting myself in class, I am distracting the others around me, and also they can’t concentrate if others are talking loudly. By me talking, it is very disrespectful to the teacher, and the others around me that are learning. It’s also very rude to talk in class. I shouldn’t talk in class because it distracts me from the learning process. It’s important not to talk, because if I’m talking while the teacher is speaking in class, I am disrupting others and their concentration. Some people want to learn. I should talk in my own free time. It is frustrating to have a group that talks when they shouldn’t be, and from time to time, even with the best classroom management,  we all encounter combinations of students who tend to do that. If these things are in place and you still have talkers, they need direct instruction about when to be silent and when to talk. If there are 5 or 6 students who tend to do this the most, I would deal with those students directly because once they are following the expectations, others will often follow. You could speak with each of them privately (not as a group), talk about the problem, and devise a plan that involves changing that behavior. It would help if you had a baseline for each of them before this conversation. I have had good luck with a strip of masking tape on my wrist on which I write their initials and tally their talking for several class periods. That way when you talk to them, you can show them the information and be clear about how often it happens. Students many times are surprised at how disruptive their talking is to the class. With this baseline, you can talk about how they can reduce the talking and gradually work to decrease it. If the class as a whole talks too much (believe me, I’ve been there!) I have had good results with talking to them as a group and explaining that other class sections are able to accomplish more in the same amount of time and that the talking is interfering with their learning. I create a plan with them. It is helpful if they know at the beginning of class what needs to be accomplished during that period. I post it on the board and try to always include time in which they work with others on a task. Then when they talk and I have to wait for their attention, I mark a tally on the board. I don’t say anything because they are aware of the plan and know what the tallies mean. I watch the clock and mark another tally every 30 seconds that I have to wait. Each tally equals a minute  that is subtracted from their partner time, meaning they will work alone or not have class time to do the task at all if they continue talking and use up the task time. Students generally begin to remind each other, especially if they end up having homework or missing fun activities because of the time lost. I also make a point of complimenting their progress at the end of the class period or the beginning of the next class. They will usually need several experiences with this before you see progress, so don’t give up right away.
